The Youth Service Bureau of Jay County, Inc. is a private, not-for-profit organization licensed by the Indiana Department of Child Services, approved for Title IV-E, an accredited member of the Indiana Youth Services Association and CARF, member of IARCA, The Alliance for Children and Families, and Healthy Families Indiana.
The Youth Service Bureau of Jay County, Inc. was established in 1979 to provide emergency shelter care services to children and youth removed from their homes. The agency then became licensed as a residential treatment facility where children and youth could remain in care for extended time periods and behavioral treatment could be provided. At that time and still to this day, the ultimate goal is reunification and if that is not a healthy path, provide the foundation for other permanency options.
The programs and services provided by the Youth Service Bureau of Jay County are to operate under a consistent philosophy. The agency promotes trauma informed and responsive practices, permanency as applicable, treating the whole person, taking into account past traumas and the impact trauma can have on all aspects of development and the health and wellbeing of the individual. The core philosophy for all YSB programs is that we must create individual/family centered environments that assure safety, promote healing and healthy development, while teaching new methods of thinking about problems, responding to issues, and adapting to the world we live in.
The Youth Service Bureau is non-sectarian, and practices and maintains a policy of non-discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, ethnic or national origins, age, gender, sex, disability status, genetic information and testing, Family & Medical Leave, sexual orientation and gender identity or expression, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. This policy of equal opportunity encompasses all levels of operations including recruitment, hiring, training, board membership, service provision, and all other aspects of the organization.

The YSB does an amazing job working with the girls and the family. They always go above and beyond what I expect!

I've worked with youth in the Jay county community for nearly 10 years and the YSB has be an incredible resource to help the youth with numerous things. They do an incredible job of helping families with a wide variety of services!
